Overview

• This application is a simple port knocker for the iPhone, primarily useful for network administrators. It requires a port knock daemon to be running on the server for functionality.

Use Cases

• This app is convenient when on a WiFi network without access to a port knocker on available computers. It can also be effectively used with TouchTerm or any other ssh or telnet software by providing the hostname and a list of ports with the choice of sending TCP or UDP packets.

• Port Knocking is a security technique to protect services behind a firewall until a specific knock sequence is given, distinct from port scanning which is used for discovering open services on a system.
• Imagine leaving your kids at home alone. You teach them to listen for a certain knock that only your family knows, similar to how servers can be instructed to respond to specific knocks sent via this application.

Notes

• + Some limitations apply to the Auto App Launcher feature; for SSH, only temporary connections can be created, and Mail operations may initiate a new compose mail window first due to iOS integration constraints.
